About my poetry.
As Archimedes said, “dós moi pá stó kaí tán gán kináso – Give me the place to stand, and I shall move the earth.”
I write poetry when emotion hits me. I can't help it - I feel a welling up inside like a geyser about to overflow.
A couple of turtle doves outside the window, flirting with each other in the early days of spring. The news in the evening talking about the latest destruction wreaked upon people in a country that could have been on another planet for its distance from where I sit. The look of my spouse as I ask for a cup of tea. Whims, whimsies and fancies of the moment – depression, anxiety, anger at injustices both at home and afar.
These are all events that are worth note.
These are the events that force the pen into my fingers and the ink to glide across the page.
